About The Artist
The Creative Process
Christine's creative process is a blend of both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. While her early work focused on the precision of the wheel, she has since developed a love for the free-form nature of hand-building. This combination allows Christine to explore both the meticulous, detail-oriented side of her mind and a more rule-free creative outlet, helping her work evolve and grow.
Christine's lifelong passion for ceramics began at the age of 12. Her journey led her to spend time in Japan and Germany during her twenties, where exposure to diverse cultures and ceramic practices profoundly influenced the forms she creates today. After a period in the corporate world, Christine rediscovered her love for pottery, now finding inspiration in the natural beauty of her home in the Florida panhandle.
Community and Connection
For Christine, pottery is more than just creating beautiful objects; it is about fostering relationships with nature and the local community. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to connect with and get involved in their own communities.
